Agreed. I saw the Manics a fair few times back in the early days. Great gigs - they were fucking awesome and one of the best British bands ever. But they lost it when they started playing stadiums and James got fat. The high water mark was The Holy Bible and apart from a couple of odd tracks here and there they have been going downhill slowly ever since.Say what you like about Richey (and he WAS a bit of a knob) but at least he got out of it at the right time.

I agree I saw the same thing on SNUB TV, at the time it just blew my mind, still has impact now.

This performance on SNUB TV was the first thing i ever heard by MSP. It's been downhill ever since, with a partial return to form with "The Holy Bible". But let's be honest, who could match this? They were young, hungry, defiant, angry, and frankly mental. Awe-inspiring.

Best thing they ever did. Saw them play this live in the East Wing, Brighton Centre in the early 90s - no more than a few hundred in the crowd, but still plenty of stage-diving. Ace!
