The Large Hadron Collider is the largest and most complex scientific instrument ever built and the highest energy particle accelerator in the world. The accelerator is located 100 m underground and runs through both French and Swiss territory. ( 27km circumference)Year 2008 September 10th, marks the culmination of 20 years of work by over 8000 scientists thousands of engineers, technicians and support staff from over 80 different countries.some critics say that this could create a black hole and suck up the entire world..but many say that even if a black hole is created it will wannish within a millionth of a second..Latest : they have successfully done the 1st testing on the 10th September 2008, sending 2 beams separately clockwise and anticlockwise, which had successfully gone all the way around the ring. but there had been some minor errors, which we dont have to worry about.***due to a helium leak, the LHC wont be re-started till 2009.for more info follow these links.(i think the best footage/documentary from the LHC) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... http://lhc-first-beam.web.cern... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/w... video is done by Chris Mann, (the link: http://lhc-first-beam.web.cern... CERN- European organization for nuclear research /lhc first beam.Hope this video must have been use full 2 u..This is the first and the original video with the best sound and video quality,by the title "end of the world?, the Large Hadron Collider ( LHC )"Please subscribe, leave a comment or rate, i would love 2 see your feedback! please speak with a more scientific point of view... you are just making a fool of yourself. it is possible for humans to destroy the Earth, if only enough energy was involved.

I love how so many people are scared over this. all it is is a proton accelerator. and people are like oh no the worlds going to end this shit is sweet you pussy's. and plus this could be one of the biggest breakthroughs in science.

Exactly.

well if it brings good to humanking then it's ok but if it brings destruction well then it's not good. I am not a scientist so those people resposible should be aware of the consequences

and wtf is that audio preview button for???

the earth can survive anything ..even humans...if us humans somehow screw everything and destroy ourselves the earth will wait until new life forms..so yeah we cant destroy this planet....but we can destroy our selves...which we always happen to consider the human race as the planet when we think of destroying the planet.

when are they going to try again

I watched the stephan Hawking doc and if sting theroy (Can't go into that) is correct than than their could be enough energy, but they would be so small that it would cause no harm

Don't worry. It takes a star 4 times bigger than our sun to form a black hole, There isn't enough energy on this planet to form a black hole.
